if i have my dates right September 24 will be the a year since Hurricane Rita
what has happened in Texas and Louisiana, Mississippi and parts of Alabama to help and what still needs to be done?
Has any body on here been affected by any of these Hurricanes or ANY Hurricane for that matter?

Yeah at skool yeaterday we watched the Katrina movie form WLOX and it was an expeirence for me. I have never been in a hurricane like that before. I wasn;t at home but my family was on the road. We went to Merdian and stayed Sunday night. The next morning we left and drove AROUND the hurricane while it was goin up Ms. We stoped at Vicksburg and took a break.(it was raining) and then we headed home. It took us about three days just to get to wiggins.

Yeah, I remember Katrina. my dad was preaching for another church in merridian MS, so we were staying in their travel trailer. We heard about the hurricane(not to mention we were hearing the thing roaring outside), so we wen't over to the church fellowship hall. The pastor and his wife were already there. The entire church started leaking after a few hours. We even had water coming out of some of the light globes in the celeing(sp?)! Part of the roof in the fellowship hall was filling up with water. All at once it seemed; part of the roof crashed in in the fellowship hall, the carpet in the sanctuary was soaked because of the water pouring out of the ceiling,(the water was like, ankle high in the attic)and most of the shingles were ripped off the roof. They had to re-roof the church. They somehow saved the carpet. It was a huge mess. We tried to save the pews(have no idea how that's spelled)with trash bags, but a few of them were ruined I think. I remember how we all felt like just sitting down and crying. The insurance company(as you can imagine)was no help at all. The whole thing felt so hopeless. But God got us through it. Praise the Lord.

yeah, you are. My family didn't lose anything or have anything ruined, but we were close friends with the pastor and his wife, so we felt almost just as bad.
